What are tags?

Tags are custom keywords members may attach to ratings and reviews to describe sites to make them easier for others to find.

You may apply up to 5 tags per site you review; each tag can be as long as three words, separated by spaces, maximum 32 characters. Blog posts added to your profile may not be tagged.

Tips for Reporting Miscategorized Sites

Here are some general misclassification tips:

  1. When classifying sites, remember to put them in the most specific category where most people will appreciate it. For example, if there is a weblog about cars, it would probably be better under Cars than under Weblog.
  2. DO NOT manipulate categories to send a message. “christanitysucks.com” most likely does not fit under Christanity. Atheism or even better Religion would be more appropriate.
  3. If there are naked people, it’s Adult Humor not Humor.
  4. If it is a news site without specific focus like CNN, it’s News(General), otherwise it’s whatever topic the news falls under.
  5. Personal sites with non-topical, personal information belong in Personal Sites.
  6. All stumbler’s blog pages belong in Stumblers, except pages with adult content which belong in Adult Stumblers.
  7. Advertising is for content about advertising, not for ads themselves. A page full of banner ads should be reported as spam using the “Report Spam” option in the stumble menu.
  8. When in doubt: Internet, Cyberculture, Adult Humor, Humor, Bizarre/Oddities.
  9. Quickly select a topic in the drop down by typing the first few letters.
  10. Ecommerce is a topic for pages specifically about Ecommerce, such as a company that sells online credit card processing software. It is not for sites that makes money over the web. For example, a rare book seller belongs in Books, not Ecommerce.
  11. If something is X-rated, it almost certainly belongs in Pornography.

Certain stumblers help with approving misclassification changes. StumbleUpon has a dual-approval process so that sites are put into the right topics. You can apply to be a “miscatter” through the feedback system. Here are some tips specifically for miscatters:

  1. (A) = Adult, (P) = Pornographic
  2. keyboard shortcuts: ‘,’ = bogus ‘.’ = change ‘/’ = skip ‘’’ = preview

There is a group to discuss these issue here.

Blogging Tag Codes

You hear so much about blogging these days on the internet and in media. Anyone who makes a blog is acknowledging its importance in boosting their site on the web. In creating their blogs, they must put blogging tag codes. But what exactly is a blogging tag code?

Blogging tag codes are keywords which act like a subject or category that you should take advantage to bring traffic to your site or blog. Tag code is used to arrange webpages and objects on the internet. For using tag code, the blogger “tags” a webpage or images for making it their own tag. Images or webpages may have many tags to identify it. Webpages and images with the same tag code are connected together and uses may use the tag code to search for same images and webpages.

Tag codes hit the blogging mainstream lately because Technorati (an Internet search engine) which up to this date indexes over 34 million weblogs started sorting blog posts by using tags. By using tags, it can be used to specify properties of an object that are not closely associated to the object itself. Tags can find things with the same properties to arrange or to organize objects. Tags also help to improve the search engine effectiveness because the content is mainly categorized using common, accessible, and shared vocabulary.

Tags usually are used in social software and Web 2.0 pages and the method that allows opening the category is called to as folksonomy. Folksonomy is a system that enables internet users to categorize the contents such as webpages, online images, and other web links

Web 2.0 sites that use tags:

• Del.icio.us- a bookmarking site that allows users to bookmark in different sites and tag them with so many descriptive words. Other people can also search by those terms to find webpages that others found to be very useful#.

• Gmail- popular web-mail site that allows categorizing of objects by using tag codes, commonly known as labels on emails.

• Flickr- a service provider that allows users to tag online images with many specific nouns, verbs, and adjective in describing the pictures.

• Basecamp- a project service provider that allows users who are working on projects to tag parts of their work in making it easy to find data.

Tag codes doesn’t mean to define their semantics, however tags are often explained as being connected to the concepts which are commonly accompanied with their concepts for which is the user not the computer, who separates which items is connected.

Making tag codes requires a group of individuals to cooperate in order to organize data which is known as taxonomy. Since tag codes lacks in basic steps to explain how an object must be classified as one tag may link to other unrelated webpages. Furthermore, tag codes are not issued by a sole being then classification by tags must be personalized.

Precisely, things that may fall under a specific tag to a user may not closely relate to another subject with the same tag code by another user. Thus, resulting in the evolution of categorization methods. Categories are made time to time by people.

Finally, in making blogging tag codes there are easy steps and these are:

1. Visit the available improving customer experience sites.
2. Put the keywords you wish to be tagged. You can separate words or phrases with commas. No need to add + sign to your phrases.
3. Last is choose from Technorati, Del.icio.us, or Flickr and other furl tags

For you to make blogging tag codes is one easy way in improving your personal site. Blogging for you will never be the same again.

The right attitude can lead to empowerment

Hi Friends, i found this interesting Article and copied it from http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Lifestyle/Spirituality/Speaking-Tree/, hope no body will say i am violating the copywrite of this Article, so read this interesting Article for uplifting your daily thoughts …A young girl walks on the lonely street, unhappy with herself. She is not beautiful like others are. "My friends have boyfriends I do not. They are happy. Since I am not beautiful, I have no boyfriend."

A strong breeze blows against her face and her silky hair starts dancing. It says to her: "Be like me my
child, go with the flow and you will glow." The breeze teaches her to have an attitude which will lift her beyond mere physical beauty.

The breeze is constantly moving; so to move with the vastness of life without getting stuck, be like it, constantly move. The breeze says to her: "I do not move for happiness but out of happiness. I do not dance for happiness but out of happiness. A youth should learn this art to operate from happiness and not for happiness. Happiness is an
attitude. To be a winner in life is also an attitude."

Your attitude is more important than facts for the right attitude can empower you. When you are empowered, you are bigger than a problem rather than a victim to a problem, and living in such a space makes you a winner. An easy task becomes difficult when you have a poor attitude. A difficult task becomes challenging when you have a good attitude.

Change your body posture. A trainer talking to students on the subject of public speaking told them: "When you talk of heaven your face must be glowing and radiating joy. Your eyes must shine and lips should reflect heaven." "What about talking of hell?" asked the student? "Your normal face is enough," replied the trainer.

Change your mind. Always entertain healthy thoughts. Positive thoughts are a great asset. A pessimist sees difficulty in an opportunity and an optimist sees opportunity in a difficulty. Understand that when one door closes another opens. Trust life. Insecurity invites you to be alert and not worried. It tells you to be creative and not complain. One has to know how to take it easy and float in life and not fight with life. You can't fight with the waves but you can learn to float.

Change your emotions. The quality of your life is the quality of your consistent emotion. When your emotion is low, just change it; think of a happy incident. Change your values. Have values that connect to goodness and connect to people.

Follow these psychological exercises: Always stand and sit erect. "If you want to be a colonel, walk like a colonel," is an expression in the army. Keep the body posture like that of a winner. Fill your mind with positive thoughts. Keep your emotions on the top of the world. Exercise and keep the above alive in you; see and picture yourself doing this.Lots of people fear failure, death, insecurity and rejection. Come from a commitment that failure is only postponed success. Failure is the fertilizer for success. If you bring this energy into your life, it will give you methods of handling fear of failure. Also understand that fear is a movement of thought. Thought is nothing but a movement of the mental word.

If you get identified with a fear which is actually just a thought, which again is just a word, then this identification makes you a prisoner of fear. Also, this thought-fear unconsciously pulls in the previous memories of fear and with the past fears, a snowballing effect happens.

So when fear happens, just become totally aware and don't get identified with that thought. With wordless awareness, just watch. This watching will not allow the previous fears to have a snowballing effect. This is called objective watching. You feel insecure because you have a concept of what is
security and from that concept you are seeing life. Anything that does not fit that concept makes you insecure. If you have the spirit of adventure in you then insecurity is a great adventure for you to explore. You will have fun with that insecurity. Learn to trust that insecurity is inviting you to be creative.

Balance your budget

i was just surfing and found this article, and after having a look , i copied it from Times, spiritual.com....

The best of countries and corporations are so because they have the best of budgets. Hence, the concern over the national budget. However, if
Balance your budget
Balance your budget (Getty images)
people spent as much time worrying about their domestic budget as they did about the national one, globally, things would be different. How many focus inwards to analyse how exactly they have budgeted their own hard-earned money?

Many of us continue to spend well beyond our income, inviting debts. Bhagwan Swaminarayan advises in his Shikshapatri, "One should keep a daily record of one's expenditure and income and should always live within one's means. All of us, rich or poor, should give something to charity".

Still fewer people have worked out a 'life' budget for themselves. A life budget includes committing time to self, family, society and God. The lives of those who do this get enriched not just financially, but also socially and spiritually.

Many corporate executives invest all their time and effort in pursuing their careers and climbing the professional ladder. Is it at all worthwhile? Most discover that their victory is empty and that they won it at an irreparable loss to their health, family and psyche, incurring obesity, heart disease and fatigue on the physiological front; separated spouse, estranged children and uncared-for parents on the familial front; frustration, depression and stress on the physio-psychological front.

In many societies, this phenomenon has resulted in a tragic burgeoning of suicides and cardiovascular and cancer-related deaths. The Royal Bank of Canada devoted one of its monthly letters to this problem with the title, 'Let's Slow Down'. "We are victims of mounting tension", it enunciated. "We have difficulty relaxing: We are not living fully".

For many in India too, life has taken on these contours, and living it is rather like going downhill in a truck without brakes. But it is still not too late. The World Health Organisation (WHO) predicts that stress will be the Number One killer in the world by 2020. And stress is usually nothing more than an individual's failure to balance his lifestyle. Living life in a healthy manner and living it fully means we have to maintain regular food habits and follow a sensible diet, regular exercise and rest, going out with family, working for charity and spending some time in reflection, meditation and prayer.

There is only one way to survive overwork or burnout: Be brave and bail out or you will be a loser. Life's rat race only produces losers. It has no winners. Even if it does, the winner is still a rat. And usually a very large one. A sage asked a prosperous king, "If you were about to die of thirst and starvation and someone offered you a glass of water and a loaf of bread in exchange for your wealth and kingdom, would you give them to him?'' "Of course I would", replied the king. "Anybody would". "Then why", asked the sage, "Have you wasted your entire life amassing all this land and wealth when they are worth no more to you than a glass of water and a loaf of bread?"

Human life is priceless. God has bequeathed this limitless treasure trove to all. And as diversification is one of the secrets to successful investment, so is it the secret to a joyous and blessed life. Reach into your soul, and reach out to your family, society and God. Budget well.

The world is the greatest fairy tale ever told

I like being with children and talking to them and, even more, playing with them. For the moment I forget that I am terribly old/adult and it is very long ago since I was a child. But when I sit down to write, I can’t forget my age and the distance that separates you from me. Old people have a habit of delivering sermons and good advice to the young.

I remember that I disliked this very much long ago when I was a boy. So I suppose you don’t like it very much. Grown-ups also have the habit of appearing to be very wise, even though very few of them possess much wisdom. I have not yet quite made up my mind whether I am wise or not. Sometimes listening to others I feel that I must be wise and brilliant and important. Then, looking at myself, I begin to doubt this.Then.looking at event, people who are wise do not talk about their wisdom and do not behave as if they were very superior persons……

What then shall I write about? If you were with me, I would love to talk to you about this beautiful world of ours, about Flowers, trees, birds, animals, stars, mountains, glaciers and all other beautiful things that surrounds us in the world. We have all this beauty all around us and yet we, who are Grown-ups, often forgot about it and lose ourselves in our arguments or in our Quarrels.

We sit in our offices and imagine that we are doing very important work.

You know we had a very great man amongst us. He was called Mahatma Gandhi, but we used to call him affectionately Bapuji. He was wise, but he did not show off his wisdom. He was simple and childlike in many ways and he loved children….he taught us to face the world cheerfully and with laughter.

Our country is a very big country and there is a great deal to be done by all of us. If each one does her little bit, then all this mounts up and the country prospers and goes ahead fast.

This was a story once written by Nehru.

Conflict between Religion and Science

Science says, there is nothing like the unknowable .And hence we say that science denies religion. According to science there are only two things; the known and the unknown. And the unknown is that which is possible to be known today or any other day, may be somewhere in future but potentially it can be known .Hence, Science believes that there is no real mystery. This is the basic point of conflict between religion and science.

Scientists try to create a scientific temperament, scientific attitude among the people in the society. They say that do not believe anything blindly. Try to analyse and find the truth in them.

Yes, having a scientific attitude is good. Man tries to understand everything from his childhood. If he is told the things which create ‘Faith’, he will be disappointed, when he will know it scientifically.

Telling the child that the electricity seen in the clouds are the weapons of Indra which he fires on earth is blind faith. Now,science distracts you from such beliefs and it should be.

The internet and the common man

Using the Net

For Executives only
The beginning of the InfoTech age led the world to go on-line. Virtually every major activity all over the world is taking place over the internet. Major commercial transactions are taking place in cyberspace virtually every second.

This Article provides an idea of how the internet can be used by an accountant and also a common man.

Mainly we will discuss about Discussion Board, chat room, search engines and how they work and bookmarks.

----------------

Discussion Board

A discussion Board is a general term for any online “bulletin board” where you can leave and expect responses to messages you have left or you can just read the Board. Bulletin board services were invented for this purpose (as well as to allow for the exchange of uploaded/downloaded files). If you visit ICAI institute’s website (www.icai.org) then at the bottom of the homepage, you will find there is a link to enter the discussion forum.

It is very interesting way to share knowledge with the friends of the Profession or even a student can participate in the raised issue and comment upon it. But the disadvantage in that discussion board is that the user’s identity is not questioned for.

Even a stranger to the profession can write rubbish and defeat the purpose of the whole issue. But that is a separate issue and in democracy we can’t question about the right to speak. To utilize the discussion forum in more meaningful way it is better for the respective websites to issue a separate ID for the user.

There are many websites, which provide discussion boards, which can be utilized by us, are mentioned below:

There are many, which can be explored through the links provided by the different websites.

CHAT ROOM

A chat room is a web site, part of a website, or part of an online service such as America online, which provides a venue for communities of users with a common interest to communicate in real time.

Forums and discussion groups, in comparison, allow users to post messages but don’t have the capacity for interactive messaging. Most chat rooms don’t require users to have any special software; those that do, such as Internet Relay chat (IRC) allow users to download from the internet.

Chat room users register for the chat room of their choice , choose a user name and password , and log into a particular room (most sites have multiple chat rooms like www.englishbaby.com ).Inside the chat room, generally there is a list of the people currently online, who also are alerted that another person has entered the chat room. To chat, user types a message into a text box.

LINKS

A link is nothing but a hyperlink to a different website provided by a webpage (generally the home page or the web page of the search results) of a particular website. You can find at the bottom of the home page of ICAI (stands for Institute of chartered Accountants of India) website that there is Links to Government websites like www.rbi.org and to different other Professional bodies like www.ifac .org ,www.aicpa.org. etc.

Now imagine a situation where you have to send an audit report from a remote location, want to discuss it with your senior who is stationed at your headquarters and the same time you have to edit it according to the senior’s instructions.

Life is easy nowadays. Simply log on to Yahoo Messenger /MSN Messenger or any of your likings send the word document file through it and after it reaches have a chat with your senior who is obviously logged on to have a chat with you. Correct it by editing in your Ms Word document that is obviously opened for editing purpose. All can be done within few minutes.

Why do full page advertising?

With Full pages we will get the links with in the contents that will be more beneficial than other type of advertising.

In full pages we write a content like that of Article matching the theme and content with said website and with in this we link back to high potential sites like wikipedia, news.bbc.co.uk, and rest of the links to our clients. In total 7 to 8 links within the content.

First 2 to 3 links directly goes to potential sites and the rest will go to our clients.

For this in content we will link to 3 to 4 our clients one after another.

One question arises why not go for Article and blog posting rather going for this Full page adverts.

Listen links from the General websites will give us Organic visitors and Article and Blogs will give us Referral traffic or referral visitor.

Organic visitors may be converted to direct customer very quickly in comparison to referral visitors. And full pages from the relevant sites will give us organic traffic, PR and more chances to get indexed unlike Blogs and Articles where people post hither and thither things that have no importance.

I heard some people to say that it is spammy.

But we do not think so and for this reason we are link back to potential websites with in the content to avoid these things. Many times it happen our page got indexed and PR like other pages of that website. One thing I forgot to mention if that website getting 500 daily visit that there is 100% possibility that 10 % of the total visitors we got from them.

We also are making that page stronger by placing the links in the Homepage and 2 internal pages having indexed and good PR.

I think this will clear from this what a Full page is all about.

Increasing believe towards Maoist

The affection of Maoist towards small children of 7 to 15 generation now creating havoc all over India. The small youth mass who are regarded as the Future of India now going to victimize. Still there is no government attention towards this menace so far. Recently we found a CD in a media displaying such activities involving small children and Maoist relationship. In this CD, I found that in the Border area of Malkangiri (it is the Border area of orissa and Chhattisgarh) creating a small party named as BAL Sangathan and providing them all the Facilities. In this CD, I found how more than 2.000boys of being trained. They are now fully adopting Maoist policy and interested to go against Law and order and also to break the Police administration there.

Maoist are using their skills and taking the confidence of their parents saying them your child will read well, eat well and will become a rich person if he will join our organization. As they are poor families they readily accept these things and also sending their kids to join them.

The new guys are helping them in exchanging their secret information from one place to another, to inform them about the police combing operation, to brought vegetables and necessary things from the market and also putting Land-mines in important areas for them.

All Moist outfits now coming to action after the win of Maoist government in Nepal.

They are also making plans to use orissa’s Unemployed youth for their work.

They have created one open Challenge for the state Government.

Is this not a threat to the whole country?

You should have to think about this……….
